We had an amazing time at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel. We stayed for 4 nights at one of the Villas. I will tell you the rooms were spacious and clean. Everything was to my standards, the service was outstanding in every area, from room service to valet parking. They really know how to treat their guests. I will definitely be going back with my family. I highly recommend this hotel for a short vacation or just to get away!

Have stayed at all 3 resort hotels at Universal Orlando and I would say the Portofino is the nicest. Very big and nice rooms with large bathroom areas. Beautiful hotel with 3 pools and several on site restaurants, bars, and shops. We enjoyed just walking around the hotel property. Hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to the parks, and there is also a water taxi that will take you. I would highly recommend Loews Portofino and look forward to staying again our next visit.

Still here. Have a few more days and I have never felt so relaxed on a vacation. The attention here is second to none. Kind and friendly staff. Great restaurants. Amazing views. Had dinner our first night at Sal's and sat outside listening to opera music being sung by an amazing talent right above us. Absolutely perfection! 1000% recommend.

As I was reading some of these 1/5 reviews it makes me wonder if I just got lucky or what! But I’d say it was an amazing experience. Everyone I’ve asked for help or needed something they have been there to help and have great patience. Very thankful for all the staff here. Also beds were extremely comfortable, great view of the water taxi, beautiful pools, it’s fancy but welcoming. Loved it!

The Loews Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando is great hotel and just a water taxi away from the part entrances. The hotel is lovely and it's great that the Express passes are included in the price! We HIGHLY recommend the Express passes because they are worth it and saved us so much time during the busy summer travel season. The water taxi is very efficient and a great way to get to the park entrances. Note, if it is storming outside, the water taxis don't run. We walked the 0.7 miles back to the hotel via the garden walk (it's a beautiful walk along the river) one evening when it wouldn't stop lightening. I recommend this hotel and location!

One of our most favorite hotels to stay when we want to visit the Universal parks. Love the Italian feel the architecture is based on. Staff is very accommodating. Rooms are kinda outdated in my opinion but they’re spacious. We love that they’re pet friendly. We got to bring our dog and they gave him a bunch of cool gifts. The restaurants serve what you’d expect from an Italian themed resort; Italian food. 😊

Beautiful hotel with very friendly knowledgeable staff that were just a text message away. Great location to Universal Studios with water taxis to get to the park. I loved the early access passes and express passes. The Italian restaurant is a must see. Breakfast was phenomenal, dinner was amazing! Staff were the best! The beach pool is amazing and is open until 11pm so you can visit the pool after a long day at the park.

The hotel was great! The beds were super comfortable as were the pillows. The pool was great with the beach area and slides. Taking the water taxi to the parks and to City walk was a breeze and was quite fun. All the kids loved it and made for a fun experience. The express pass unlimited was such a life saver. With it, we were able to do both parks and rode on multiple rides 2-3 times in a row. We ended up riding every ride which added up to 24 total times we rode on the rides. We actually left before the parks closed because we were exhausted from all the rides! All-in-all, we would definitely stay here again and would recommend to everyone to do the same!

What a unique gem! Who would think that within walking distance to a theme park one could find such luxury and theming of Italy.... I was blown away. It was so beautiful I couldn't stop taking photos. I really enjoyed not only the convenience but the BEAUTY of the walking path to the park. We also used the water taxi which was fun and convenient as well. Luckily I had scheduled a pool day for myself during my trip and the service and food poolside were excellent. I can't wait to go back.

This is truly a magnificent resort and stands as a true flagship for Universal Orlando. The grounds, rooms, & recreational areas are immaculate. The theming of the resort is done so well that it is easy to forget that you are at a hotel property. At no time did I feel like the resort was crowded and I was incredibly pleased with the proximity to the parks/city walk. The fact that the unlimited express pass is just icing on the cake. This is absolutely my favorite theme park resort including those resorts located a few miles down I-4.

Highly recommend this beautiful hotel. Easy access via water taxi or a manageable walk to/from parks. Staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Food was delicious. Rooms were clean with the most comfortable beds! The early park admission and express unlimited passes were must-have perks. You won't regret your stay at the Portofino Bay!

I went once about a year ago, then back again. It was and still is beautiful! Cant wait to visit again. Being part Italian it really felt I was in Italy. I ordered room service a couple times and it was excellent! I ordered the Chicken Alfredo and it tasted delicious! Highly recommend going here on your next trip to Universal!

I am hoping I get the chance to experience this hotel, but at the same time I am upset with the fact that no one at Universal has mentioned this hotel is seperate from the universal company... my family and I are booked to stay June 3-5 but no one can give an answer as to if our reservation will be honored? When I called the hotel directly the representative told me to try calling again tomorrow or Saturday because they have not recieved any notification on the resort opening... I am scheduled to leave in 5 days with no idea on the stance of my reservation... i feel that the company should give notice now to people .... or in the very least have a set date to give to their representatives to better service customers and let them know about their reservation

In my opinion, one of the best hotels to stay at when you are going to Universal. The whole theme of the place is Italian and it is very well-maintained and clean. There were also many restaurants to chose from and they were all great. There is also a multiple pool areas, one of which has a slide for the kids. There is also a adult pool as well. It also has very easy transportation to get to Universal by a ferry boat. It was also very quick to get there and back to Universal. The rooms were very clean as well. The hotel is very giant however, so if you are going with friends you should probably try to get rooms that are close together. Definitely recommend and is one of my favorite places to go when going to Universal!

I haven't stayed at any of the other Universal Hotels, but this was definitely something special. Our room was very clean and updated. From the moment we checked in until we left I felt like anything I needed would be taken care of. We had the express pass which definitely made our time in Universal memorable. There was multiple times when we would go to the pool and be the only one there. Overall a very nice experience.

Beautiful hotel. Everyone is really nice & helpful. They have a water taxi that takes you to Universal Studios. There was a singer on a balcony singing to the outside courtyard. Mama Della's Restaurant:. The food was delicious. I had the short ribs, which melted in your mouth. Lindsay, our waitress, was so on top of things, it was almost like she read our minds. My husband said even the coffee was really good. There were also a couple of fellows going from table to table entertaining with English & Italian love songs.
