“Hotel serves great food and can rooms! Wasn’t overwhelmingly nice for the price however. Would have given a higher rating but loud music going on until 11 pm outside and pool closed at 6pm. Was kind of a bummer for how much the room is. Other than that staff were friendly and everything Else was good”

“There are a ton of shiny new western hotels in San Jose, the Barcelo is not one of them. But it is one of my favorite hotels in urban San Jose. The rooms are large, the pool area is very nice, the buffet style Costa Rican breakfast is great. A large open air breakfast pavilion is a great start to any day. If you are looking for fresh, fancy and new this is not your place. If you are looking for great comfort at an incredible value that feels a little nostalgic this is you ticket. I stay there almost every time I go to San Jose.”
